Hot off the Catwalk

Diana by Enzoani

Girls, we all know how much we love fashion, and buying the dress is one of the most exciting parts of getting married. Each year, the top bridal designers showcase their newest styles at the British Bridal Exhibition in Harrogate, with thrilling catwalk shows, dozens of small salon – style events, and hundreds of rails displaying all the latest trends.

Confetti paid a visit to the weekend-long event to bring you a sneak peek at all the hottest styles in the bridal catwalk for 2010.

Shape

Benjamin Roberts

For a new take on the ever-popular strapless silhouette, opt for shoulder detailing, with asymmetric one-shoulder styles taking their cue from the catwalk. Draped off- the- shoulder straps adorned with bow and sparkle detailing make the shoulder the new focal point this season.

An unusual asymmetrical shape with emphasis on the shoulders can be seen in this Benjamin Roberts style in champagne tulle. The gown features an elegant cowl which encircles the shoulders to stunning effect.

Body-con styles grace the international runways, and this trend influences bridal style for 2010, with form-fitting silhouettes, sleek styles and elegant columns. An emphasis on the waist continues, with many designers featuring corset style tops and ribbon detailing with bows and brooches.

Suzanne Neville’s ‘Virtue’ is a wonderful example of this latest styling with detail at the waist. A full-skirted strapless dress in ivory silk duchess satin and silk organza, with a fitted bodice and bow detail to a nipped-in waist, this gorgeous gown promises a youthful or virtuous look to any bride.
